About the Artist

I was fascinated by European classical art as a child. From a military family I had the good fortune to live in Germany and travel in Europe as a child. I found even then to be awe of the art I was exposed to so early in life.
When my real estate career slowed in the recession, I started taking drawing lessons and found great joy in drawing. Michael J Harrell has been a wonderful teacher and inspiration. As retirement came closer, I started taking lessons again but this time I wanted to explore color. I dabbled in watercolor but didn’t find the same joy. Finally, I tried pastels and found joy in that medium with Wendy Devarieux as my teacher.
Nature is my muse and that is where I find my inspiration. The changing colors, shapes and moods are infinite.
For me, there is great joy in the process of creating art and again when someone appreciates my art and adds it to their personal collection. Original art can be for everyone.
I am a member of Artist’s Guild at Gadsden Arts Center and Museum and Red Rock Pastel Society of Nevada.
